On Tuesday, the PTI provincial leader, Iftikhar Jhagara announced to join Pakistan People's Party due to internal adversaries in the party. He made announcement during a press conference here at his residence. The Federal Minister for Hajj and Religious Affairs, Syed Khurshid Shah, Deputy Speaker Faisal Karim Kundi, Federal Minister for Communication, Dr Arbab Alamgir Khan, MNA Asma Alamgir, PPP provincial President Saifullah Khan, and other provincial leaders were present.
Speaking the occasion, the Federal Minister, Syed Khurshid Shah welcomed the joining of Iftikhar Jhagara into PPP, saying that his party is real people representative, and extending services to masses at their doorstep. He expressed the hope PPP will be further strengthen under supervision of its provincial president Anwar Saifullah Khan. PPP president Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Saifullah Khan said the PPP will win overwhelming success in the next general elections and people would be re-elected them on basis performance.
Iftikhar Jhagara said that he will serve all his energy for strengthening Pakistan People's Party and regain lost position in the party. "I always serve for people, would continue struggle for their welfare and betterment in the province", he maintained.
"I had never demanded for high profile and key position from PPP in past, will not expect in the future", he remarked. He said I have great respect for PPP central leader and MNA Ms Faryal Talpur, and expressed the hope PPP will win the coming general elections.
Meanwhile, Pakistan Muslim League-Q, provincial information Secretary and MPA, Nighat Yaseem Orakzai also quit his party and join Pakistan People's Party here at a separate press conference on Tuesday. On the occasion, PPP provincial president Anwar Saifullah Khan, Deputy Speaker Faisal Karim Kundi, and other provincial leaders were present.
MPA Nighat Orakzai while strongly criticising the PML-Q central leadership, said that the leaders had totally neglected the members and workers in the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province, because of which a huge unrest creating among the workers and activists. She said that party even ignored her despite provincial information secretary from Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.
Later, addressing the ceremony, PPP KP president, Anwar Saifullah Khan claimed that his party will not only clean sweep in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa in the next general elections, but also get overwhelming victory in Punjab, Sindh, Balochistan and Gilgit-Balitistan as well.
He ruled out any pre-poll alliance with any political party, saying that PPP central leaders would visit in next week to devise plan for carrying out elections campaign in Peshawar and rest part of the province. Criticising the Pakistan Tehreek Insaf leaders, he said Imran Khan is a great sportsman, who won national title in world cricket, but not a good politician.
